For a long time now, Americans
have become slaves to an onslaught of marketing and advertising ploys. Many families believe that happiness lies in having
things, most importantly the things that television and advertising tell us to buy and promise to make
us happy.
This materialism is now a
way of life for our children and we as parents have given in to the myth that we should buy our children everything
the advertisers tell us to buy to make our lives better. Many families who can't afford it have begun to use Credit
Cards for these purchases and have gone deeper and deeper in debt. It shouldn't come as a surprise that so many families
are falling into forclosure and bankruptcy.
Regardless of the fact that our Country
has outsourced most of our Manufacturing and jobs overseas,
we've have continued to become an even more materialistic society; buying what we can't afford and supporting foriegn made
products rather than American Made. Even
our children's role models, movie personalities, music celebrities, sports figures, and talk show hosts, all
endorse non-American made products.
The good news lies in the fact that
we have the power to stop this vicious cycle, beginning in our own families and our own communities. Each
of us need to learn the benefits of living more simply and buying less.... but that doesn't mean we have to go
without. It is more important than ever to support Local Businesses and help our neighbors through
Community Programs and Volunteering.
Many reliable resources tell us that the answer
to improving our economy and helping our Country bring Manufacturing back is quite simple but we have to be willing to change
our ways of buying and support American Made Products. ReBuy America is dedicated to supporting this way of life.
We believe that Manufacturing and Jobs can come back to America if we all work to make it happen.
Together, We can Do It!
